Using remotEMDR’s Internal Video Chat
remotEMDR works seamlessly with all external video chat platforms, but if you’re looking for a truly streamlined experience – our internal video chat is the way to go. It is a high-quality, feature-rich video chat that’s integrated into the platform, so you don’t have to leave the session screen or keep any additional tabs or windows open during the session. It is specially designed to allow for full and easy control of the BLS during the session, and includes various advanced features, including HD video, background blur, and more. Click below to learn how to start an internal video chat session and how to change its basic settings to suit your needs.
More Video Options
As mentioned above, you can use remotEMDR together with any external video chat platform to conduct your online EMDR sessions. The videos in this section will help you set up remotEMDR with external video chat platforms in a few simple steps.

Advanced
The videos in this category go deeper into the platform’s customization options. They enable you to truly make remotEMDR your own, use it across different devices, and make your work process more focused and efficient.
Creating Default Presets and Layouts in remotEMDR
As we mentioned above, remotEMDR has a lot of customization and personalization options. As you become familiar with the platform, you may develop your own set of preferences regarding its many features. For example, you may like to have a certain session duration for some clients and a different one for others; you might like to use a different color scheme for each part of the session; or you may want to use a particular sound for one client’s auditory BLS and change it for someone else. Changing these settings again and again for every client can be very time-consuming, and doing it during the session itself may be very disruptive to the therapeutic process. In this video, you will learn how to choose and save your personal array of setting choices for each individual client, and determine what the session screen’s default options will be for any new client you create.
Using remotEMDR’s Auditory Stimulus
remotEMDR offers therapists three types of bilateral stimulation – visual, auditory, and tactile. This video explores the platform’s auditory stimulus and its many customization options. Watch it for demonstrations of the available sound effects and music tracks and explanations about the different ways you can operate the auditory stimulus, with or without the visual one.
Using remotEMDR on Mobile Devices
remotEDMR’s mobile version is very similar to the desktop one, making it easy to conduct high-quality online EMDR sessions while you’re away from your computer. The mobile version can also be useful in in-person sessions, where it can be used to control the BLS viewed by the client on the computer screen. This short video shows you how to set up a remotEMDR session on your mobile device and shares a few important details you need to know before you start.
Using remotEMDR’s Notes Feature
remotEMDR’s Notes feature is one of our latest additions. It lets you take thorough, EMDR focused notes on each session without having to leave remotEMDR’s session screen or look down from your computer screen to a notebook or a piece of paper. The video reviews taking notes, editing and deleting them, accessing existing notes through the client list, and exporting or printing them out.
Using remotEMDR in In-Person Sessions
While our primary goal when creating remotEMDR was to enable therapists to offer clients effective EMDR therapy remotely, the platform can be highly useful for in-person sessions as well. Watch this video for a short explanation of how you can use the platform in an in-person session, and a quick review of some of the main features and options.

Sharing Your Screen and Recording a Session
This video demonstrates two very useful features you can find on remotEMDR – Share Screen and Record a Session. These will enable you to share the contents of your screen or part of it with your client during your remotEMDR session, or record the session for training, accreditation, or any therapeutic purposes. The video will guide you on how to set up your browser so that you’re ready to record or share your screen once the session begins.
